There was a beautiful jungle and a tall mountain

Day off #2, spent in the Animal Kingdom.

Florida and I decided to go on an adventure to the Animal Kingdom. South Carolina had to work and Texas was feeling under the weather. So Florida and I arrived at Animal Kingdom around 1:00 pm. We got something to eat because it was starting to rain. We sat out the rain while enjoying our yummy meals. When we were done, we went to Dinoland and rode the Dinosaur ride. I was so scared! Big dinosaurs coming at me with huge teeth and open mouths? Heck no! Being eaten is not on my to-do list!

So after that, we went to ride Expedition Everest (one of my favorite rides on Disney property). However, because of thunder, they had it closed down for a bit to make sure nothing terrible would happen. So while we waited for that to clear up, we went across the park and got on one of the safaris. We got to see some awesome animals like giraffes, lions, hippos, and elephants.

When we finished the safari, we headed back to Everest to see if it was working. We hadn't heard any thunder for a while so we hoped the ride would be operational. We saw the wait was only ten minutes so we rushed inside, going through the line with almost no stopping until the last part. We got on and were put in the back of the car. We rode it and for some reason, it was more intense than I remembered it. When we got off and saw that the wait was still only ten minutes, we jumped right back in line and rode it again! We loved it that much! It was a blast! My heart was pounding so much and I loved it.

Texas had told us about the Festival of the Lion King so we decided to check it out. We were walking towards the show area when we ended up getting stuck behind the ropes of a parade. We stayed to watch and I was shocked to find out that one of the girls on stilts was a friend from my college! She had been a senior my freshman year! She was my Oklahoma sister in the dance department. I was so excited and couldn't believe the wild coincidence. She didn't hear me calling her but I texted her when I got back to the apartment and was so happy!

Anyway, we saw the Festival of the Lion King and it was phenomenal! There were dancers, stilt-walkers, acrobats, singers, and everything under the sun! It was absolutely mind-blowing. I love it so much. If anyone comes to Disney, they need to see it.

After that, Florida and I went home to rest and make dinner for us. The day in the parks had been very exhausting. We decided to watch Tarzan while eating and invited a friend over to watch. He arrived with cookie dough and we finished Tarzan. After he tried to borrow like a third of my movie collection (he then narrowed it down to just a few movies), we put in Oceans Twelve because I have only seen Oceans Eleven. After this movie, I'll probably hop in the shower before heading to bed. I've got a morning shift tomorrow and will need my sleep.

I'll keep things updated on my days off or on days when I have the time and energy to actually post something.

There were delicious sweets!

So today is one of my two days off and I'm enjoying it so much. It's a day where I can stay in my pajamas as long as I want, curling up with my Stephens College hoodie blanket and watch TV.

Luckily, I'm not alone today. Florida has the day off as well so she's been my lounging buddy today. We've watched all of Armageddon, caught the last bit of X-2, and then channeled surfed for a while before settling on different things. She's been working on her online classes for school. I admire her for her dedication. I would not be that focused on an online class. I dunno. I think I would prefer to work on stuff by actually writing it but I'm not even sure. I just don't think I would do well with online classes.

Anyway, while South Carolina and Texas were at work, Florida and I have just been watching TV and playing on our computers, making fun commentary on shows and stuff. We made a pizza for dinner, moving all of the pepperoni to Florida's half because I'm just not a fan of pepperoni. I had a caesar salad kit so I made that to go with the pizza. We enjoyed our dinner while watching TV. Then, we decided to enjoy some dessert.

A few days ago, South Carolina, Florida, and I went to Epcot for dinner. Texas had early work the next day so she hadn't been able to join us. We went to Japan for dinner and stayed for the Illuminations fireworks show (which is phenomenal, by the way). After Illuminations, we wanted something sweet but were still pretty full. We went to the Boardwalk and found the bakery. South Carolina got a sugar-free cheesecake while Florida and I both got a piece of this beautiful creation that was cheesecake on top of a brownie. Super sweet and delicious... I had one bite that night and ate half of it tonight. I don't know when I'll be able to finish it because it's so rich but no matter how long, I'll enjoy every bite.

I have tomorrow off as well so I'm not sure what adventures I'll have tomorrow. I think we might try to go to one of the parks. We haven't gotten to go to Animal Kingdom yet so maybe we'll go there. It depends on when we all wake up and how much energy we have to go out there. I have a feeling that we'll probably do something tomorrow, whether its Animal Kingdom or maybe just roaming Downtown Disney while South Carolina goes to work. Texas, Florida, and I all have tomorrow off so it'll be fun.

I think my posts will mostly fall on my days off because I'm usually pretty busy or tired on days that I work. If I do have time or something big happens, I'll make sure to post it. No worries. I'll be using this to document plenty of wonderful memories while also letting people keep tabs on me.

There was time to relax.

So it's been a while since I've blogged and I'm sorry for that. I have the day off so I'm finally able to post. Every time I would get a chance lately, I'd either be too busy, too tired, or get distracted and forget. I've been working a lot, still training at my restaurant. I've got three more days of training before I have officially earned my ears. But while training seems to go on for a while, it's still really fun. I love the people I'm working with. They are all very nice and funny. It makes working long hours easier.

But besides work, life has been pretty nice. I've really gotten addicted to my Kindle, loving the way I can read so much faster. I don't know if it's just the amount of text on each page or the fact that I'm reading in the morning, on my break, and before bed. I've started reading a new romance novel series about the Malory family. The author is Johanna Lindsey and if anyone is searching for something to read, check it out. It's awesome!! Just try to read it in order. I learned that by reading one out of order and then starting at the beginning. I seem to always find my romance novel series like that. First, the Sherrilyn Kenyon series and now the Malory series by Johanna Lindsey. So for anyone that wants to, I recommend those two series.

So since my last post, I have been working, reading, hanging out with the girls (who are all doing very well), and sleeping. It's fun to be here and the only thing I have to adjust to is the constant rain. Even that doesn't take much adjusting too.

Also, for those who are concerned, Hurricane Irene is not going to hit Orlando so we are all perfectly safe. No worries. All is safe in this fairytale kingdom.

There was a great adventure.

Actually, there were two great adventures, one day after that other!

Yesterday, the adventure was in Disney's Hollywood Studios. South Carolina was working all day long so when Texas came home from work, Florida, Texas, and I all decided to go on an afternoon adventure to the Studios. We got there at about 15:00 (oh yeah, Disney works on military time) and rode a few of the rides and caught a short show as well. Texas rode the Hollywood Tower of Terror for the first time and I think she enjoyed it. She screamed a lot but that's half the fun, right? Getting to scream on a fast ride? I can't imagine riding a high-thrill ride without screaming or laughing. Anyway, the three of us stayed there until about 18:30 before running to Walmart and returning home to our little apartment palace.

Today, Texas and Florida had work so it was just going to be me and South Carolina. We had decided to go on an adventure to the Magic Kingdom! We spent most of the morning relaxing and enjoying the chance to sleep in. We were leaving at about noon and what did we find when we got downstairs? Texas was home! She had been sent home because of confusion over her work place and stuff of that nature. Either way, she ran upstairs and changed before joining our adventure! We got to the parks and started our adventure by coming across a parade! It was so cool. Then we saw a show outside Cinderella's Castle, rode the spinning teacups and Space Mountain, before seeing another parade. After that, we walked around and tried to decide if the lines were worth waiting in for the ride.

When we were done wandering, we made our way down Main Street U.S.A. and looked through some of the shops. Visiting a sweets shop, South Carolina bought a very colorful piece of fudge that looked like Funfetti cake. I got an apple that is covered in chocolate and looks like Minnie Mouse! It's got red sugar and white polka dots, even mouse ears and a bow! After our sweet stop, we went and met three of the princesses. It was Aurora, Belle, and Cinderella again! It was cool to get group pictures with them. I just hope to be one of them someday soon.

Anyway, we got back on the monorail and returned to our apartment. For dinner, we decided to have some fun and go out for something. Up the street is a Lone Star Steakhouse, so we went there for some nice steak and foods we didn't have to cook ourselves. I always find things nicer when I'm not the one cooking them. I don't know why but it always just tastes better that way...

That was the end of the adventure mostly. Now I'm sitting in the living room, watching Tangled with Florida. Texas is watching too while on her computer and South Carolina is on the phone with her boyfriend (I think..). Tomorrow I work from 8:30 to 16:00 and after that, I think Sunday is my next day off... Ugh. Oh well, I'm here to work and have fun. So far, the "having fun" part has been going great. The "work" part... I'll let you know in the next few days.

Here's to a new adventure!

There was a beautiful little cottage in the glen

And that's where I get to work!

Well, except for the fact that it's not really little and it's not a cottage. It's actually a huge lodge! I'm so excited to be working at one of the Walt Disney World resorts by the Magic Kingdom. I had a simple day of training that wasn't too long but still fairly boring. It's important to know all the things they mentioned but it's still not as thrilling as learning the history of the company and seeing characters visit us in class like they did yesterday.

Texas and Florida (I'm going to be calling my roommates by their states for fun) had the morning orientation class and they were up super early. South Carolina and I had the afternoon class so it was nice to sleep in but we also had to deal with the heat. There was a small issue at the beginning but with the help of a few princes-in-training and another girl, it was all taken care of and we got to class, only having to make-up a small 30 minute portion. Mickey stopped by and gave us a nice visit, adding some fun and delight to the long class yesterday.

But anyway, today I had a class on food service and the safety steps and all of the other things I needed to know. I got to sleep in again but I got home and decided to rest. South Carolina and I were going to get groceries tonight but we were both way too tired to leave once we took our shoes off. So now South Carolina is resting and I'm watching Legally Blonde with Texas and Florida. Tomorrow, I have the day off and I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself. Maybe I'll go swimming or work-out at the gym here... I'll decide tomorrow and find out what kind of adventures I can have around here.

So for now, this is all I have to offer at the start of my story. This Oklahoma princess is enjoying her time in Orlando with her roomies South Carolina, Texas, and Florida. I'm also excited for my time and chance to work at the Happiest Place on Earth. My story has just begun and I'm enjoying it already.

In a land far away called Orlando, Florida

So today is the beginning of my time at the Disney College Program. I will be here until January 6th and hopefully, I'll be staying afterwards for employment at the Happiest Place on Earth! I'm soooooooo excited!! It's like a dream come true where Princes and Princesses are real, toys really do come to life, and nothing is impossible with a little imagination.

Anyway, for all of those that wish to know, I am working in one of the Magic Kingdom resorts in the Quick Service Food & Beverage business.... So basically, I'll be working fast food but I'm doing it at Disney so it's okay. I'm going to have a blast! Besides, I'll be auditioning for performances, parades, and other things while I'm down here.

I've moved into my apartment and met my three roommates. They are fantastic! We are going to have so much fun together while we're here. We are from all different places but I can tell that we're going to be great friends and have loads of adventures together. There's a native Floridian, a girl from South Carolina, a Texan, and your dear old Oklahoma princess (that's me!).
Well, there's not a lot for me to say here since today was just moving in, paperwork, and unpacking but in the next five months, I will try to keep everyone updated on the new stories of my personal fairytale life and dreams. Who knows... Maybe there will be a wicked witch, a Prince Charming, or maybe just a bunch of adorable woodland creatures. I guess we'll just have to find out as the story develops in the wonderful world of Disney.

So for all of those who read this, I welcome you to read my story and it begins just like many other stories.

Once Upon A Time....
